Beginners Running Groups

 

I started running the Beginners Groups last year. So far they have been very successful, with 100% of people who complete the program being able to run non stop round a local 5k Parkrun event. Many have progressed on towards training for other events, such as Lincoln 10k, North Lincolnshire Half Marathon and the Great North Run. The Beginners Running Group has been the platform for these amazing achievements. If you have a long term goal, but have no experience of running, this group could give you the push you need to start heading towards achieving that goal. 

 

 The main elements of the Program are highlighted below:

 

  •      8 Week program aimed at getting you running non stop for 30 minutes

  •     Optional 5k Parkrun as a group on week 9

  •     Using tried and tested methods, we follow the walk/jog/run program.

  •     Gradually building up the distance and intensity as we progress.

  •     Full support given throughout by a UKA qualified instructor.

  •     Small groups all of a similar ability (Beginner).

  •     You need to be able to commit to working out 3 times a week. Once as a group, where you will be shown that weeks workout and then two further sessions in your own time.

  •     Tips and Advice given on how to avoid the common mistake new runners often makes

  •     Club Introduction, we can introduce you to local running clubs and groups towards the end of the course.
